HGK name is very well known for it’s incredible contribution for drift world.
Every year HGK racing team organizes a VIP drift challenge event, where only the ones with exclusive invites are allowed to come and join the battle.
Some fancy names always occur on drivers’ list. This year it included some former FD champions such as Chris Forsberg and Daigo Saito. As well the very well known Latvian, who’s been running FD series for quite some time now - Kristaps Bluss.
The grid included drivers from all the different corners of Europe and even Russia.
The battle was tough from the very beginning of TOP16, since all the best were here. Both of Lithuanians had to admit their lost in the TOP16 battles and continue watching races from the stands.
Two of the best drivers were eliminated at the TOP8, Kristaps had to admit the advantage of Polish driver Borkowski, while Forsberg was forced to lay down his weapons against Estonian Express - Harold Valdma.
Meanwhile, the local star Janis Eglite eliminated all of his opponents so far, same as the drift master Daigo Saito, both of them ran smoothly into the TOP4.
The final battles started. The 3rd place fight was Eglite against Borkowski. Since on the home track, Eglite had all the cards in his hands and won the battle, taking the last place on the podium.
Run till win, that was the motto of Harold Valdma, while facing the former FD and D1 champion - Daigo. And so he did, after a long fight the advantage was set for Valdma and he claimed the title for HGK Drift Challenge Winner of 2017.
