Claiming the King of Riga title couldn’t be more simple.
All you need to do - is win against the strongest drivers in the whole drifting world. Every year Riga attracts thousands of drift fans from every corner of Europe. The amazing Bikernieki track in the middle of Riga’s city is one of the favourite among the drift drivers. That’s why Riga is the capital of drifting in Europe, where all drivers love to come back.
As per usual, event starts with a tiny drivers’ meeting and short couple hours run of practice the day before.
After all practice runs the drivers are set off for the parade to the Riga’s city centre.
Latvian Drift Page - as seen on Facebook. :))
Meen the main guys running the whole show - Eline and Arkadiusz.
The second day started with some tiny practice in the morning and qualifying runs after.
After qualifying was done, the TOP 32 parade took place. The crowd cheered for its’ favourites and the drivers had their spotlight time.
The battles were fast and vicious. Drivers were falling off the fight, gladly with almost zero damage.
This one definitely mixed drift with the rally competition.
Fierce fight was going on this amazing track. No one wanted to give up the title and each of the remaining drivers wanted the “throne”.
Since the day was coming to an end - only the strongest four were dominating the track. Dawid Karkosik battled against the Krzysztof Romanowski. The following one won the fight and secured the third place for himself.
The last runs were between the two amazing drivers. Janis Eglite - Latvian star running the home track and Adam Rubik Zalewski - the young talent from Poland who already was about to claim the season title of this series.
Due to a tiny mistake Adam did - running just a bit too deep into the concrete wall, Janis took the win for the day and proved again that he and no one else is the King of Riga.
